What is TST Kentucky?

We are a religious community by and for practitioners of non-theistic Satanism who observe the Seven Tenets of The Satanic Temple. We hold the character of Satan as a literary metaphor for rebellion against arbitrary authority and injustice and as a beacon of rationality and compassion toward mankind.

Our Congregation

Much like other religious organizations, our congregations are a group of religious practitioners of Satanism who form a community dedicated to observance of our deeply held religious beliefs. TST Kentucky is the official Satanic Temple sanctioned congregational group for the state of Kentucky.

What is a Satanist? Do you worship the Devil?

We are non-theistic, meaning we do not believe in nor worship a literal Devil/Satan. We view Satan as a metaphoric symbol core to our values of seeking knowledge, rejecting arbitrary authority, fighting injustice, and free will.

There are lots of questions about Satanism - so there is an official FAQ to help provide answers.

These seven tenets shape our beliefs and practice.

What are the Seven Tenets?

  1. One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.

  2. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

  3. One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

  4. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.

  5. Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.

  6. People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.

  7. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

Satanic Campaigns

The Satanic Temple organizes various campaigns in accordance with our practices, beliefs, and to meet the needs of our communities. These range from groups like Sober Faction, After School Satan, Reproductive Rights, and more.

Religious Reproductive Rights

Tenet III states: "One's body is inviolable, subject to one's own will alone."

Consistent with our tenets that call for bodily autonomy and acting in accordance with best scientific evidence, The Satanic Temple religiously objects to many of the restrictions that states have enacted that interfere with reproductive rights of individuals.

Satanic Good Works

I think TST is cool, but I'm not a Satanist...

Not everyone is a Satanist, and that's fine! No two people, even in Satanism have the same path in life. Maybe you're the spouse or loved one of a member, you're curious, or you just like the work you've seen us take part in and want to support in your own way. You're still welcome to interact with our community. We have a Facebook group open to our friends and allies. Our only requirement is respect for our religious space.

I'd like to join! Where do I sign up?

Whether you're a new Satanist, or just finding out there is an active community in the Bluegrass, we'd love to interact with you!

Anyone can self-identify as a Satanist.

Anyone can join The Satanic Temple via the official website.

Congregation membership is, however, different and more restrictive to protect our religious space and community. To join, we ask that you:

  • Be over 18 years of age,

  • Be a resident of Kentucky or authorized areas,

  • Be an active participant within the community,

  • Uphold our Code of Conduct

You can apply for congregation membership by clicking the button below, reading the document guidelines, and applying.
